But with every innovative manufactured invention comes a whole load of garbage. The oceans we depend on for air, water and marine life are suffocating under the discarded inventions of the late 20th century. The trees that produce our oxygen and the warm blooded mammals that humans kill for 'fun' or consumption, both domesticated and wild, are dying in mammoth, incomprehensible, numbers - some never to return and through no fault of their own. Human population continues to increase and rapid change as a growth industry is still considered to be the best way forward. But by whom and forward into where? Change in our wealthy nations is no longer about banking to gain compound interest, gaining the right to a pension at age 60 or 65, or being entitled to a life long career with one organisation. And yet, the 20th Century messages are still out there, all of those messages from yesteryear, promising the hope of a better tomorrow that is going to look just like yesterday. Doh! In the 21st Century technological creativity is already stimulating the human brain in a different way. Neurologists are discovering that the brains of our baby 'technological natives' are being 'rewired' differently from the technological dinosaur generations of last Century. How this will influence the future capabilities of today's Y and Z generations is yet to be witnessed. However, one thing is for sure. No matter how human brains are wired, the earth can only take so much crap and it is baulking under the human drive to keep on changing. While a little of what you fancy can do you good, a lot of it will make you sick. Right now, I'm sorry to have to tell you, the earth is sick. It is sick to death of over active human consumption, and we are going to be consumed next if we don't get our act together. But what can one person do when governments run the country and business giants control the purse strings? In the image of Mother Theresa, focusing on helping those closest to you. In economics, the ripple effect is about what happens when one business changes and dependent economies on that business experience the financial shift also. Irrespective of the classification, it is people who feel the impact of changes. People just like you and me. The truth is, long term change moves slowly while superficial change has a shorter shelf life. Taking a long term approach to human life is about having faith in the future. It is optimistic in nature and when positively, positive can be blinded by the light. A more balanced approach to change awareness gives you the opportunity to find your adult self. The harder you play or the faster you run the harder, the more difficult it is to see what is truly happening around you. Modern economies are founded on winning the race at all costs instead of enjoying the view while you run. It may come as a surprise to find that real life is changing while you all have been busy running to nowhere. Real change begins at home and the person most at home with you, is you. If you don't feel at home with you then something is conflicting with your core values that you may or may not be aware of. Change is the leader of industry and industry is dying, just like the everything else. In order to save your own life, find out what it is that your truly value. It's a big call when your body is so used to running that race and doesn't know how to relax. But if you are not aware of your values, then who is? Who is leading the way and why do you follow? © Chris Tyne, 2012
