Changes by Dead Fish Handshake

and  i remember days when you were next to me
there was nothing i couldn't do
cause you were there for me when the world had turned away
and now its hard here without you

and now i'm lost and my world is changing
i just can't go on this way
time goes by i'm still here waiting
and i don't forget those days

and nothing's right today and feelings start to change
i guess it wasn't meant to be
throughout the dim lit year I always felt the same
and this meant everything to me

and now i'm lost and my world is changing
i just wish you'd find your way
now I know its my heart that's breaking
and i don't forget those days

and I was never enough
and I was never enough
and I was never enough

through all these changes
life rearranges
it leaves me here today
through all these changes
life rearranges
it leaves me here to say

i miss you
Oh i miss you
its just that i miss you
i miss you

If I could hold you close like you were never gone
If I could hear your voice, you'd tell me to be strong

But sometimes, I just can't, I just don't understand
Why you had to go, why you had to go
Guess I'll never know

Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be okay
Till you remember things ain't never gonna be the same again,
Same again
Ain't it crazy how you think You've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever In your hands, in your hands,
Change

If I could get to you,
I'd be there in a minute
My world don't make no sense,
not without you in it

And sometimes I just cry, can't say I don't know why
But why'd you have to go? Why'd you have to go?
And leave me here alone, and leave me here alone

Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be okay
Till you remember things ain't never gonna be the same again, same again
Ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever in your hands, in your hands,
Change

You don't see it coming
Change
When the future comes knocking
It changed
It can make you and break you too
You just have to make it through
You just have to make it through

Ain't it funny how you think you're gonna be okay
Till you remember things ain't never gonna be the same again
And ain't it crazy how you think you've got your whole life planned
Just to find that it was never ever in your hands, in your hands
Change,
change,
change Oh oooooooo
Change, woo Oh
change, change, change
Change.

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with every day
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
That's why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you

And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you

I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you

I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Save the planet!
This world is waiting for someone who wants to get in the game
Get in the game!

I know this world has a solution
I wanna make a revolution
I wanna make it even better...........

I just wanna change the world
Change the world for better
I just wanna make it work
I wanna make it work forever
I just wanna change the world
And we can make it all together

I know this world has a solution
I wanna make a revolution
I wanna make it even better ............

Musicians for Change: 29 Sept 2012

14/4/2012

Do you want to join other poets MUSICIANS, SINGERS AND SONGWRITERS around the USA and across the planet in a demonstration/celebration of MUSIC to promote serious social, environmental, and political change?

100 Thousand Musicians for Change Day will take place in conjunction with 100 Thousand Poets for Change Day on September 29th, 2012.

This past September 24th, 2011 100 Thousand Poets for Change was initiated and the result was the largest poetry reading in history. For September 29th, 2012 we invite Musicians to join in the celebration/demonstration to let the world know we have a voice and we care about the future of the planet.

If you would like to organize an event in your community, write to us at walterblue@bigbridge.org
“What kind of CHANGE are we talking about?”

The first order of change is for MUSICIANS, SINGERS, SONGWRITERS, poets, writers, artists, anybody, to actually get together to create and perform, educate and demonstrate, simultaneously, with other communities around the world. This will change how we see our local community and the global community. We have all become incredibly alienated in recent years. We hardly know our neighbors down the street let alone our creative allies who live and share our concerns in other countries. We need to feel this kind of global solidarity. I think it will be empowering.

And of course there is the political/social change that many of us are talking about these days. There is trouble in the world. Wars, ecocide, the lack of affordable medical care, racism, the list goes on.

It appears that transformation towards a more sustainable world is a major concern and could be a global guiding principle for this event. Peace also seems to be a common cause. War is not sustainable. There is an increasing sense that we need to move forward and stop moving backwards. But I am trying not to be dogmatic. I am hoping that together we can develop our ideas of the “change/transformation” we are looking for as a group, and that each community group will decide their own specific area of focus for change for their particular event.

“I want to organize in my area. How do we begin to organize?”

100 Thousand MUSICIANS for Change will organize “participants” by local region, city, or state, and find individuals in each area who would like to organize their local event. Just let me know if you want to be an organizer by sending a personal message to me directly through Facebook, or to my e-mail: walterblue@bigbridge.org.

If you are an organizer for your community this means that first you will consider a location for the event and begin to contact people in your area who want to participate in the event. Participation means PUTTING ON CONCERTS, MUSICAL FESTIVALS, WORKSHOPS, FUNDRAISERS, any kind of music related event, in a coffee shop or in an arena, drum circles, song fests, symphonies, marches, intimate performance in local community centers or public expression on the streets, performing in general, and of course contacting the media, posting the event on the web, in calendars, newspapers, etc., supplying cupcakes and beer (it’s up to you), putting up an information table for your cause(s), inviting guest speakers, etc., and cleaning up, of course. And also documenting the event through video, audio, etc.,(this is important, too).

Organizers and participants will create their own local event as an expression of who they are locally. Do they want a parade, choir, candlelight vigil or a circus, a march or a dance, on a main street or in a private setting; it’s up to the local organization. However, groups should be sure to hold some part of the event, if not all of it, outdoors, in public view. (however holding your event outdoors is not required).

It is also important that the event be documented. Videos, recordings, photos, journals, paintings! Documentation is crucial. The rest of the 100 Thousand MUSICIANS for Change want to hear what you have to say though your music about change! The documentation will be shared through our website at www.100tpc.org, a place where you can post event information, as well as audio, photos, videos, poetry, art, and thoughts. But an event doesn’t have to involve tons of people. It can be just you (the organizer) and your guitar, on a street corner, with a sign. Just let me know what you are planning! Every effort counts!

Each local organization determines what it wants to focus on, something broad like, peace, sustainability, justice, equality, or more specific causes like Health Care, or Freedom of Speech, or local environmental or social concerns that need attention in your particular area right now, etc. Organizations will then come up with a mission statement/manifesto or song that describes who they are and what they think and care about. When the whole event has taken place all the mission statements can be collected from around the world and, I hope, worked together into a grand statement of 100 Thousand MUSICIANS for Change.
Thank you for joining us!

Important Note: with heartfelt thanks to Playing For Change for their altruism in the world.
Playing For Change is not affiliated with the BigBridge dot Org 100,000 musicians for change initiative of 29 Sept 2012.  Chan6es has used creative licence to share the one love tune in support of the change efforts of musicians everywhere.

This is the third video from the documentary and a follow up to the classic "Stand By Me" and the incredible "Don't Worry." Released in celebration of Bob Marley's birthday on February 6, is a tribute to Bob's legend.

David Bowie (1947 - 2016) wrote and released his song Changes on his album  Hunky Dory in 1971 then as a single in 1972. Despite missing the 1970's Top 40, Changes has evolved into a Bowie signature song, now known all around the world as the sound to tune into when thinking about  Changes.
“ It turned into this monster that nobody would stop asking for at concerts: 'Dye-vid, Dye-vid – do Changes!' I had no idea it would become such a popular thing." Bowie is commonly quoted as saying.
In 2004, Changes was ranked 127th on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
Changes  "started out as a parody of a nightclub song, a kind of throwaway" Bowie is again regularly quoted as saying. Well, it clearly seems that Bowie's  'throwaway'  Changes is a boomerang that keeps on coming back: And in today’s climate of increasingly complex changes, I think that it is hardly surprising that the finite artist, musical chameleon David Bowie, was chosen by Chan6es to be our honorary King of change music and lyrics.

Blessed are they who have learned to bear what they cannot change.
For every ailment under the sun, there is a remedy, or there is none.
If there be one, try to find it, If there be none, never mind it.
